You get mini-thoughts, since I’m running around like mad and have limited internets. 😀 Let’s see…
Query writing is so much easier after this massive edit.
– because I barely have time to function right now must run around and get things packed because we are leaving tomorrow morning because poor Duane thought the 30th was Wednesday and would give us another day to chill down before heading off to NYC and holy cow there is too much to do.
So I’ve received a gift that pretty much made me cry.
My grandmother is an artist. For years, she made beautiful paintings, Asian-influenced, with all kinds of subjects.
Visiting family for Christmas, wheee – this will be a strange and extended trip. We’re going to be back and forth between here, NJ, and NY from now until January 4th.
Lisa Schroeder, author of I HEART YOU, YOU HAUNT ME, is celebrating the release of her upcoming YA novel, FAR FROM YOU, and hosting a contest with LOTS of great prizes!
I seem to recall that I promised you a second snippet. 😀
I’m currently posting from Starbucks – has been a long away-from-home day – so if this isn’t readable for some reason, just let me know.
Failputer has reached new levels of special. The battery won’t charge, and it beeps constantly. But that is ooookay. This thing lasted almost three years – for me, that is a record.
Actually, the state, not the city. We be visiting my wonderful grandma.
I still have no computer, sadly, but my beloved Duane is letting me borrow his work laptop so I can keep writing.
I don’t know who Goosetea is; I can’t read the language. However, this person takes some of the most marvelous photos I have ever seen, anywhere.
Bad: First and most importantly: Please Remember To Update Your Browser! Yes, ANY browser. Hanging on to an old favorite version is something a lot of folks do, but this opens them up to some nasty, nasty viruses.
Did another quick edit of the first couple chapters of book one. It’s a funny thing; the longer I stay away from it, the easier I can see what needs to be cut and what needs to be tweaked.
Recovering, slowly but surely! Somehow, book two is up to 36,800 words. O_O I didn’t even notice. WOO!
Book one is undergoing a slight, possible tweaking, namely in chapter one.
27,000 words. SOMEHOW.
Also, saw Indiana Jones. I actually enjoyed it. The critics hate the thing, and I’m seriously not sure why; oddly, I think Ebert has explained things the best: http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080518/REVIEWS/969461084
Read ‘n enjoy, and all o’ that.
Ganked a nifty little personality test from a friend. Now, I’ve taken this sort of thing before, but it’s rarely been this accurate:
The test itself, for you guys: Only one page long, so it doesn’t take much time.
Oh, this… this is incredible. It’s breathtaking to realize places like this exist.
“The King’s Walkway” is a narrow walkway along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, Spain.
I’m still chewing my own head off regarding the next batch of queries. I know, I know, it shouldn’t be THAT big a deal, but I’ve honestly never been very good at the drabble mentality (i.e., say as much as you can in 16 words).
Evidently, this is a meme weekend. I’d say something about returning to regularly scheduled programming, but given my computer-induced track record of late, that might not be such a good idea.
Still pretty much computerless. However, progress on book two is going QUITE well – for those in the know, I may end up introducing Tier much earlier than I planned.
I seem to recall promising an update. First one, of course, is fun: MY HUSBAND TURNED 30. Awww, I robbed the cradle.
