So now, I’m on my way to CA. Tomorrow.

Dad’s unwell in the extreme – as usual, he’s pushing himself too hard. Brother needs to move FROM CA, and dad was going to help him, for lo, he is insane. Not gonna happen now, thus! I am heading out there, and will be reinforcing my minimal stick-shift-education with 3000+ miles of practice.

‘Scuse me: AAAAAH.

On the other hand, the book is coming along VERY well. I’m just about at the climax, which is exciting for me. Still working on that query, of course.

Alex doesn’t know what he is. Four wings burst from his back in blood and pain after his twelfth birthday, and strange new urges – including an irresistable protective instinct – have forced him to believe his unknown father was not human. Horrified by how others in his bordello home respond to his changes, he flees the island.

Alex lands in Aberdeen, Scotland, but instead of finding freedom and answers, he finds a war. The mythos – sentient magical beings – are desperate for survival, and must stay hidden from humanity even as they face horrific internal threats. Alex’s protective instinct sends him into that war headlong, where he unintentionally becomes the last thing standing between the Unseelie kingdom and destruction. His own questions put aside, Alex carries the fate of thousands of lives, and learns the difficult lesson that he cannot save them all.

Tada! So far, anyway. 😀 Lemme know what you think!
