An absolutely enormous bird, rare not due to predation, but due to the fact that a natural ecology can only support one within a reasonably large distance. Parts of a roc’s bod are considered collector’s items because they are incredibly difficult to kill, and when they die of old age or natural causes, they tend to eat their own, leaving nothing to collect.
