Doraleen is one of many truly brilliant people from the Iskinder family. Her great grandparents fled South Africa during the ecological disaster that led to the Sun needing to save the planet, and unfortunately, fell under the sway of the Association while living on Mars.
Doraleen is a complicated person. She truly only wants to protect humans from Kin-born diseases; but she also turns a blind eye to the members of the Association who want to destroy Kin, seeing their very existence a danger.
