The Excised: a term among the Fey for those individuals who have been cut off from the power of the Throne or the Scepter. It’s beyond ostracization; often, unable to gain enough magic on their own to sustain their lives, they die.
As an aside, those who have been placed in such a position also lose their family names. They are, always, known as Grey.
