Among the mythos, Alex is unknown – but that doesn’t mean he isn’t wanted.
When twelve-year-old Alex discovers that the world is divided between humanity and the hidden beings of the mythos, he thinks his problems are solved: the mindless desire he inspires in humans, his own conflicting instinct to protect at any cost, and most of all, the four wings that exploded from his back in blood and pain six months ago. Unfortunately, none of the creatures he meets can tell him what he is. Selkies, shapeshifters, gargoyles, and Sidhe all react to him with confusion – and sometimes fear. His overwhelming urge to protect them in spite of that lands him in the middle of a plot to murder the Unseelie king. Alex is desperate to prevent it, but only time will tell if he’s in over his head.

Unfortunately, none of the creatures he meets can answer his questions. Selkies, shapeshifters, gargoyles, and Sidhe all react to him with confusion… and sometimes fear. His overwhelming urge to protect them in spite of that sends him deeper into their complex society, until he uncovers a plan to send the Unseelie kingdom into anarchy. Whether or not he can stop it in time is a question only he can answer.
